Knack for Norfolk
This is a political ad for the upcoming election that I was conscripted into doing. The quality isn’t as great as I’d prefer, since I didn’t have any external audio equipment and I actually couldn’t use either of the nice, expensive cameras that we have and instead had to use the video function on my still camera. But, my still camera is pretty sweet, and this isn’t as rough as I thought it would be. Mostly, Josh Clark, who is assisting the Knack campaign, and called me to make this, directed things and I just pointed the camera and did the editing.
I will say as an editing exercise this was very interesting, because I was taking other people’s words and crafting them into the message that I wanted to get across. One of the real upsides to studying English in school was that I have a great knowledge of how to craft an argument, and that really helped out in taking different people speaking off the cuff, and with limited knowledge of what each other has spoken about, and mixing it into a coherent argument. So while this might not have been something I would have gone out and done on my own, it was pretty interesting.
