Unwanted movie reviews.
I've seen a bunch of movies in the last week or so, so I figure I'll tell you all about them. I saw Superbad twice this week and laughed my ass off both times. It was a lot raunchier than I thought it would be, but it captured the awkwardness of being a teenage boy perfectly. The guys wanted so bad to know the right thing to do and the right way to be but they were so far off. When Evan accidentally hits Becca in the boob in the hallway it's just perfect. I really liked Michael Cera on Arrested Development and I read an article that said he loves that kind of awkward humor, so hopefully he'll keep it coming. I also saw The Invasion, which a lot of people have lambasted, but I really enjoyed. It kept me on the edge of my seat the whole time; the idea of a world where everyone is against you is really creepy. It was a little heavy on the social commentary-the only way we'd all be at peace is if we couldn't think for ourselves-but I really got into it. Also, I always forget how smoking hot Nicole Kidman is. I really thought I would like Death at a Funeral more than I did, but it just seemed like a British version of a Ben Stiller movie. Maybe for some that sounds good, but mixing British humor with over-the-top slapstick, which worked well for Monty Python and many others, just didn't work for them. I thought they wasted Allan Tudyk by having him stoned on acid the whole time. But, the movie does get some love because it was directed by Fozzie Bear himself, Frank Oz. Didn't even know that going in. He's directed some pretty good movies-The Dark Crystal, What About Bob?, and, of course, The Muppets Take Manhattan-too bad this wasn't one of them. But he deserves all the credit in the world because it's an unquestionable fact that without Frank Oz, the Muppets wouldn't have been as amazing. He was right there with Jim Henson every step of the way. Finally, I just saw The Bourne Ultimatum, which wasn't as good as the last one, which wasn't as good as the first one.  The action is great but it's the same tired plot and it came to a conclusion that I figured out way back in the first movie. I like the Jason Bourne character and I think it'd be great to see him in a different premise and plot. I'll probably get my chance since they set themselves up for another fucking sequel! Also, I don't get why Julia Stiles was in this movie. Don't get it. Anyway, between the Bourne movies and the Ocean movies, Matt Damon is making a lot of money off of making the same movie over and over again. Not bad for an ugly dude.

So what's next, The Bourne Conundrum? I feel like after watching the first 2 I could write the 3rd one myself. Same thing with Rush Hour 3. Thank God for that movie, because there were sooo many unanswered questions from Rush Hour 1 and 2. Will Chris Tucker ever understand the words coming out of Jackie Chan's mouth? Will there ever be a band of 20+ ninjas that can stop the combined might of Tucker and Chan when they are kung fu fighting in perfect sync with the music? And of course, war...HUH!...Good God ya'll....what is it good for?
