The Hail Mary play for a comedy.
I saw Employee of the Month the other day. I was looking forward to it, I like Dane Cook, I've been a fan of his long before his recent bout with celebrity. I was very disappointed. He's such a different comic, so I can't understand why he made such a formulaic movie. It was completely predictable from start to end. And it wasn't that funny. If had a few moments, but every movie had a few moments. And, once again, Jessica Simpson proved that she has no business acting. She's like a big blonde block of wood. And there was a midget. Isn't that like the Hail Mary play for a comedy, like, hey, this sucks, let's get a midget, they're always funny. Oh, my bad, I meant little person. Doesn't that sound more demeaning that midget. Maybe it's just me. Anyway, the movie reminded me of Grandma's Boy, the Adam Sandler's friends movie. Kind of the same formula, kind of the same themes, except Grandma's Boy was much funnier than Employee of the Month.
