Wasting five minutes the fun way.
I'm gonna let you the public be the judge here: I just recorded myself doing my John Madden impression to see how close I sounded to him. I was watching Sunday Night Football the other night and noticed how Madden's voice isn't as deep as I though, or anyway as deep as it sounds in my head when I do my Madden. But I don't really have a deep voice to begin with and after listening to it, I don't think my impression is that bad. I'm not saying I could call up his wife and fool her or anything, but if someone just heard me doing the voice, I think they might be fooled. So my question is, is that a totally pathetic thing to do? I'm gonna go on the side that yeah, it's a loserish thing to spend like five minutes on, but I still feel like I got something out of it, if nothing more than five minutes of enjoyment. So it must have been worthwhile, to me anyway. What do you think, folks who've heard my Madden, yea or nea?

I think you should post a WAV file to be sure. As for the second part of the question, yeah, it's a loserish way to spend 5 minutes. But it was your 5 minutes, so do what you want with em. Besides, my motto has always been that if I amuse myself, the joke was funny. So it's a perspective thing-kinda like the tree falling in the woods and all that. I'll probably end up spending at least 5 minutes comparing the WAV file to Madden's actual voice and deciding how close you are, so that might be an even bigger waste of 5 minutes. But I'm doing it at like 3 in the morning when nobody's up anyway, so does it really matter? Again, tree in the woods thing...I'm pretty sure I could eat a whole box of Alpha-Bits and crap a more coherent comment than I've just managed to do...so the short answer, I need a WAV file.
