At least we got a table. For the 300th time.
I had a couple of transactions today at a couple of stores and I wasn't entirely pleased with either one. First I went to Dick's to return a couple of Under Armor polo shirts, I liked them but they're way too long, which I ended up exchanging for an Under Armor jacket-notice a pattern?-that I think looks awesome and I plan to wear it way too often once it gets a little cooler. Later I bought a hardrive to store our master tapes on at CompUSA. The thing is, I feel like I got pretty shitty service at both places and the worst part is that at Dick's the girl that rung me up was a "Front End Lead", a little below an assistant manager, and the guy at CompUSA was the "Customer Service Manager". Shouldn't they be the best at their jobs? Apparently not, they both seemed completely distracted, I'm not sure either of them made eye contact with me, and I definitely felt they would have been perfectly happy if I had just burst into flames or fell over dead. And I know, a few of you are like, yeah CB, but you're a dick, maybe you did something to cause that reaction. Ok, I grant the fact that I'm a dick, but I didn't do or say anything that could have caused their complete indiffernce to me. I don't know, I guess I'm pretty judgemental of retail workers, maybe I caught them both at a bad time. I just seem to notice a lot of people really suck at their jobs. I guess it does help in that it makes me take a lot of appreciation out of the folks who are good at their jobs, the ones that make me feel like I might actually want to shop at their store again.
