Shootin' a short.
A little while back I mentioned a Youtube contest that Travis discovered that's related to the upcoming movie Juno. Well, we decided we wanted in on it and tonight Travis, Eric, and I shot the short. I got to make my real acting debut tonight; before this I'd only done a few lines here and there in Speaking Japanese. I think I had a definite advantage in that I wrote the short, wrote it for myself too. I had a lot of fun; I have a whole new perspective on the acting side of things. I understand now why when they finish a scene they all look at me with these puppy dog eyes and plantively ask if they did a good job. I know I did a good job and I still felt compelled to do that. I say that now, when Travis and I edit it tomorrow night I might have a different opinion. All I know is that I am a damn good writer; it's a pretty intense little scene and as I was going it just builds and builds. By the end I could feel my heart thumping in my chest and Travis is like, "You can really see that Under Armour logo [on the chest of my jacket] moving." We did figure one thing out for sure, it's not that Eric and Mike get silly when they shoot together, it's Eric and whoever he's with that get silly together. Eric is one of the most laid back guys I know but you put a camera in front of him he's like an ADD kid on crack. We're doing this super-serious scene and he's got us on the most ridiculous topics and laughing between each take. I think we wanted to blame it on Mike since he's so damn funny on a day-to-day basis, but it's all Eric. So yeah, the short is called "Elided" and it'll definitely be up on Youtube before November 7th and of course I'll have a link on the site here. Then you can see for yourself how badass I am at every single thing I attmept. See, at times like that, don't you sort of miss the self-depricating CB?
