Beardless, overwritten editing.

Man, our little Youtube short project is coming right along. At the moment it's the exact opposite of a typical dropout production. Travis and I edited it last night and it ended up being a good exercise because when we finished with it exactly as it was written it ended up being just over nine minutes, which is great except that is can only be as long as seven minutes for the contest. We cut and hacked and sliced and managed to get it down to six minutes and fifty-four seconds without taking away any of the important aspects of the short. We'll use the final six seconds for a title screen at the beginning and credits at the end; they won't be too long, only three of us were involved in it. I still like the nine minute version better, but the seven minute one rocks too. I did a pretty Ok job of acting, though I am biased. We'll have it up on the old Youtube sometime in the next few days and, again, of course I'll link it from here. This picture is a screen shot of the editing process, not from the short but from the "Baby Survivor" scene from Speaking Japanese. So the madness of November has begun with both NaNoWriMo starting as well as No Shave November. I've got a little over a thousand words so far which is good but I have to average one thousand six hundred and sixty-seven every day. Fuck! And for No Shave November I shaved my beard to give myself a base and equal footing with the rest of the guys. It's good to shave it off every now and then and remember why I grow a beard in the first place. I look a lot younger without a beard too. I'll post a picture sometime when I get one, then you can judge for yourself.
