I'm bored so this might be long.
They cancelled "The O.C."! I'm pissed. It's hard to belive that people stopped watching because Mischa Barton left the show. I like her, I hope she gets some good movie roles, but I hated the character. I was glad they killed her off, she was the worst part of the show. TAYLOR (Autum Reeser) ROCKS!
Also, Mark McGwire didn't make it into The Hall of Fame. I loved Ripken and Gwynn and I can't believe there were 7 to 12 people who didn't vote for them. I think McGwire cheated and used steroids, but I don't have any proof. I have to wonder how much of an impact sensational "news"reporting has affected this country. One of our basic tenants is "innocent until proven guilty", but with celebrity worship it's become guilty without all or even any of the facts. Look at the Duke Lacross case. Forty guys had their lives at worst ruined at best turned upside down and it's becoming more and more clear that there probably wasn't a rape. I hate to say that because rape is, unfortunately, the only crime where we make the victim prove they've been victimized rather than the criminal prove their innocence, at least at the outset. But, in this case, the woman's story was, as near as any reasonable person can disern, fabricated. And because Mike Nifong wanted to get reelected the city went with the lie and ruined these guys' reputation. Any time it comes up that they went to Duke and played lacross it'll be, "Oh, you were one of the rapists." That's wrong. The whole societal perspective on guilt is wrong.
