Completely unnecessary updates on things that may or may not be related to dropout productions.
NaNoing my life away.

I haven't talked about NaNoWriMo in a while-well, not on here anyway-so I figure it's about time for an update. I wrote 3,717 words today, to give me a grand total of 26,271 words so far. Pretty impressive right? Yeah, well, if I had kept the pace I should have kept-1,667 words each day-I'd be at 30,006 words today. So I'm a little behind. But that's Ok, I just have to up it to averaging 2,000 words a day for the rest of the month, and I've got this coming holiday weekend to hopefully not only catch up, but to get ahead. Despite being consistently behind, I'm still really enjoying this whole nonsense. I have come to the harrowing realization that my story doesn't actually have a plot, which I blame entirely on Kurt Vonnegut Jr. I love the man's work, and he really never has a plot. And most of the stories I concieve of don't have a plot either. I'll justify it by telling myself that plots are overrated. I like my novel though. Sometimes I have that problem that pretty much anyone has when they're creating something, asking myself if anyone is going to like this. I don't know. Maybe it doesn't matter. Sometimes I worry too because I have a tendancy to not want to spell things out-something that's completely counteractive to the whole NaNoWriMo-write-50,000-words-in-a-month thing. I'd rather write something and leave it out there, let the audience interpret it for themselves. I guess it'll be up to somebody else to judge whether or not that strategy works. I'm pretty fried on writing today, but tomorrow I plan to knock out another 2,000 plus. It's like, I want December to get here both fast and slow, I want this to be over, but I also want this to be done.
