Completely unnecessary updates on things that may or may not be related to dropout productions.
Here Derek, are you happy now?
Derek complained that there haven't been any posts lately so I better make one to get him to stop bugging me. I've been busting my ass the last few days trying to catch up on my NaNoWriMo novel. I got way behind, like 7,000 words behind, far enough behind that most people would probably quit. That's one thing I've gained from the mess that's been the production of Speaking Japanese, determination. So Mighty Mouse-who got seriously behind too-and I spent all day yesterday-seriously, like eight and a half hours-at Panera Bread out at Lynnhaven writing. This is the third or fourth time this month we've spent a whole day NaNoing and we're a lot better at it now. The first time wasn't overly productive; I think we both wrote over 2,000 words that time, but, as an example of how much better we are, yesterday I wrote 4,5000 words and she wrote 5,000. Not too bad. We're both gonna make the push to actually be caught up today; I need to write another 4,5000 and she needs to get about 3,000, so even if we can't make it today, you know, turkey and all, we should definitely be able to catch up tomorrow. I know both of us would like to use the holiday weekend to get ahead and give ourselves some breathing room for the final week. I'm still having fun with it, but this is, without a doubt, the worst idea Mighty Mouse has ever had.

There, was that so hard? I'm not sure what would be more difficult, writing 4,500 words or counting them up afterwards.
