No class, free ice cream, and a JoAnna Lynne show.
So I just got back from seeing the lovely and talented Ms. JoAnna Lynne ply her trade at Scotty Quixx-which, by the way, where the hell were you?-and, as always, a great time was had. Jo is really something else live; I'm still not sure how it's physically possible for that big of a voice to come out of that small of a girl. It's pretty cool seeing someone you know perform, especially since JoAnna gives me a shoutout when she plays "Christina", which is my absolute favorite of her songs. She also played, for the first time ever in front of people, her brand new song "Speaking Japanese". That's right, the song she wrote just for our little movie. Personally, I fucking love it. She says it's not quite done and I'm no song writer so I don't know what she thinks needs fixing, but, I'll repeat, I fucking love it. So, like she said, I kind of got two shoutouts tonight. I just think it's really cool that something that I put a lot of work and effort and myself into could inspire someone else to create something artistic. That's a huge compliment in my book. I really think JoAnna deserves a lot of credit; being a musician at the beginning of a career kind of sucks. She's playing in this empty bar on a Tuesday night, she's up there with her eyes closed playing the shit out of these songs that she's put her heart into and only a hanful of the already small crowd are paying attention. That just sucks. So seriously, she gets all the respect in the world for plugging away and not believing in anything other than her own success. That's just badass. The rest of my day was pretty good too. My one class got cancelled, so I got to hang out with Katie, who happened to remember that Cold Stone Creamery was giving out free ice cream from five to seven. Nice. So yeah, no class, free ice cream, and a song inspired by my movie. That's a pretty fucking good day.

That's killer. A very high compliment indeed. And not just free ice cream, but free Cold Stone??? You bastard! Where was the phone call? Why were they giving out free ice cream, other than to hook you with their crack-in-a-bowl goodness...y'know, the first taste is free, but then you gotta pay.
