Saturday.
So yesterday was supposed to be the first ODU baseball game of the season, but it rained. So they were going to play two games today beginning at noon. I show up to the park at 12:15-I'm alway late for the first thing I have to do in a day-and I see people leaving. I stop a guy and he tells me the field's still wet so they're going to play one game at 3 and then a double header tomorrow-Sunday. Ok. So I go to Panera and get some chicken soup-cause I'm sick right-and read my book for class-Fay Weldon's The Life and Loves of a She-Devil, a lot better than I thought it would be. I saw Mighty Mouse, but we didn't see each other until she was outside and she didn't want to come back in. She's lazy like that. Of course I didn't exactly run outside myself. Anyway, I go back to the park a little before 3 and see people leaving again. I stop a different guy and he says the game today is cancelled and they're just going to play the double header tomorrow-still Sunday. F'ing rain. It's beautiful for a few weeks, then as soon as it's time for some baseball it pours. I ended up going to MacArthur and saw Be Kind Rewind which was outstanding. It's a love letter to movies, making them, watching them, and the people that enjoy them. It's nice to see that Michel Gondry reeled in the rampant pessimism and darkness that marred The Science of Sleep-though it's still a really good movie-and made this one what his style of special effects seems suited for, a damn enjoyable movie that's fun to watch and makes you feel good for having done so. After that I when to the ODU basketball game-I was determined to see somebody do something with a ball today. The place was packed and we-really they, I didn't play-won, so it was a good time. And now I'm at home and I'm sleepy and I'm sick and I'm probably gonna sleep on the couch again tonight because my insomnia seems to get fooled by the change of venue.
